A&W Menu prices: Restaurants is a fast-food restaurant business in the United States known for its burgers, draught root beer, and root beer floats. It all started in 1919, when Roy W. Allen set up a roadside drink stand in Lodi, California, to serve a new thick and creamy drink called root beer at a parade commemorating returning World War I soldiers. Despite the fact that A&W serves burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, and frozen snacks, the majority of customers come for the A&W Root Beer. They also sell their root beer in half-gallon sizes, as seen below. A&W began as a root beer stand before growing into a full-fledged restaurant.
